TStore
MPEG-2 Transport Stream Record/Playback

Key Features
  • Records/Plays transport streams using DVB-ASI IO
  • Internal high stability oscillator (2.5ppm)
  • Capture manually or use preset begin and end times
  • Record once or capture continuously in a circular buffer
  • Play one time or loop for continuous output
  • Build playlists of streams in Scheduled Play mode
  • 500GB, or 1.5TB internal storage
  • Control via front panel, web browser, or on-board KVM support
  • Supports conversion of 188 byte to/from 204 byte packets
  • Includes software for rapid analysis of stream content

The MPEG-2 Transport Stream Record/Playback System (TStore) is the most affordable solution for recording, storing, and playback of MPEG-2 transport streams. Robust and flexible, TStore is indispensable for testing and quality assurance of streaming MPEG-2, DVB, and ATSC transport.

TStore's standard DVB-ASI interface is compatible with industry encoding, multiplexing and digital headend equipment. In a compact 1 RU, 14" deep chassis, TStore allows you to capture and store specific segments of a live transport stream for later playback, remultiplexing, or offline analysis. TStore can playback a transport stream a single time, or loop continuously over a segment. You can also build a playlist for continuous back-to-back stream playback.

With your choice of 500GB or 1.5TB of internal storage, TStore has ample capacity for many hours of content.

Flexible Control Interfaces

Indispensable for testing and quality assurance, TStore supports flexible user interface choices for system configuration and stream record/playback control. The front panel provides a simple and quick means for controlling operation. Alternatively, built-in keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) support allow control to be input using peripheral devices. Finally, an internal web server enables remote control using a browser application.

Powerful Capture Capabilities

With TStore, you can capture streams by specifying start and stop times for a fixed preset duration, or by recording with manual start and stop control. A repeat mode allows you to continuously capture, saving the most recent data. TStore automatically determines the transport rate of the captured stream, and provides a quick analysis of the stream content, including PID assignments and elementary stream characterization. Captured streams may be transferred using anonymous FTP (File Transfer Protocol), NFS (Network File System) or Samba (Server Message Block) to a remote computer for additional processing.

Precise Playback

TStore can playback transport streams that have been previously recorded and stored, or that have been uploaded from remote storage. In Single Play mode you can play a stream one time, or loop continuously over a segment in the stream. Using Scheduled Play, you can build a playlist for continuous back-to-back stream playback. Streams can be added and deleted to the list dynamically during playback. TStore's 2.5 ppm oscillator tightly controls the output transport rate for minimal drift and jitter.
